Wanna be on this, our Forsaken Souls website? Well, now you can! You can see the members page in the top menu of the site. It may not remain there forever, but its a good place to make it easy to find while we fill it up with everyone who wants in. A few example entries have been made. See the simple one, under Paladins/Arnaem. The more extensive option you can see under Hunter Ranger/Elynaen or Control Wizard/Xael. The difference is that 'full bio page' option, where you can add text and pictures, like a banner, screenshots for a slideshow, and any bio you may want to write.

Discord is here! We've now added Discord to our Guild's communications. Its going to be a complement to our website and in game chat however, not a replacement for it. We've already tied the website into our Discord a few different ways, and more will come as we see whats useful. Most recently calendar events are posted there as reminders 15 minutes before they occur, and new posts to the website will be announced there as well. What are we going to use Discord for? Good question, I'm glad you asked. Many guilds use it primarily for voice chat, but there is so much more to it than that. Even if we're light on those wanting to use it for voice it should be a useful addition. Its good for seeing reminders as posted above, sending screenshots to each other (theres an idea in the works with this), and having a quick reference to all those links we talk about in these longer posts. All members should now have an email that details how to join. Don't despair if you don't see anything of interest when you first get there. There is nothing but a mostly blank welcome channel until you are added as a guild member by one of the leaders. Come give it a look and see if its useful for you! It doesn't even require a full sign-up process just to look at it real quick. You can see it all in a web browser like chrome even if you don't want to download the app to your computer. Even better, all those notifications that are going there can be easily seen from your phone or other devices. The Coffer is always hungry, and even if we dedicated all our time to it growth would be slow. Growing the stronghold is a huge challenge that takes patience, organization, and determination. Here is one view of how to optimize dailies to help the stronghold grow while using as little time as possible. Be sure to have your characters boons filled out for the areas you're working on. We've always felt that character improvement should come before donating to the guild coffer. Besides a stronger character makes for more efficient questing, and faster coffer gains in the future. The next boon. We're just about due for a new boon plot. Here are the thoughts going into choosing which plot we get. Here is the official page that introduced the Stronghold boons. Neverwinter: Boon Structure Guide What we have: Barracks
Right now we have the Barracks, that we have been working so hard in recent monthes to upgrade for our power boon. This structure gives us our Power and Experience bonuses. We have one more upgrade for that structure that hopefully will be occurring in the next few weeks. At that point it will also have an Incoming Healing bonus. Heres another trick for increasing the returns we get for Conqueror Shards. This one comes from the quest rewards available after the end of the Maze Engine quest line.
The pic below shows the entire campaign. At the top is 'Defend the Sword Coast', which returns Gauntlgrym Bounty after 5 dailies. Out of that we can get 10 Conqueror shards. The Defend the Sword Coast campaign task only takes 10 seconds to complete, and consumes 5 'Tales of Adventure' to do it. Those Tales of Adventure are a campaign currency that builds up by doing the daily. Heres the trick: Don't run the Defend the Sword Coast task until a double shards event, (there was one on 12/25). Save up all your Tales of adventure until then, and it won't even take up any inventory space to do it! Opening the Gauntlgrum Bounty chests during the event will give 20 shards each instead of the normal 10. Things are quiet for our guild with the approach of the holidays and all the busy times around them. It is however also the time for some of the biggest events and sales all year in Neverwinter. We'll see if we can take advantage of at least a few of them. One upcoming event we are looking at is here in 42 days from the time of this posting, roughly from christmas through new years. This is the 'double power shards' event, and it includes double Conqueror Shards of Power as well. These are the shards we worked so hard to gather about a month ago. Right now we are sitting 60 Stronghold Chests of Power away from another level in the Barracks. This will give us an additional 1000 power for everyone. During the event that shrinks to 30 chests, which is a reachable goal if enough of us pitch in. There will be a countdown on the front page that will show how many chests are confirmed as being bought. If you decide to purchase one please tell Xael (@krzrsms) or Elynaen (@vixtra) in game so we can update the count. As of the time of this posting they are selling in the AH for 160k (They're also on the Zen market). We just recently got out of an event that made them super pricey however. It wasn't unheard of before the stronghold event last week for the chests to sell for 130k. I would suggest waiting to see how some of these holiday sales work out to see if theres a really good deal on stronghold supplies like these chests. Remember, do not open them until the event 12/25-1/2 ! Update: We've achieved the original goal and more! So now we're moving on to see how far we can get into getting the conquest shards we need for the 3000 power level barracks boon. So many players have pitched in.. thank you all. It looks like the AH price has gotten down to ~125k AD and the zen market has nearly everything for 40% off. Either one is a good choice. The siege has been on for almost a week now. There is still another week to go and most of the prizes are still up for grabs.
Of particular importance to the guild however are the stronghold vouchers. They drop from killing any monsters in the siege event area. It appears that they drop approximately 1x per minute for regular monsters and 3x per minute for some heroic encounters. Pro tip: Its not necessary to end all the HEs immediately. Hang out and kill the extra adds that are made with the end HE boss comes out. Quite a few extra vouchers can be produced that way. It is however hard to find an instance with few enough players in it to get this done very often. Most often the boss gets mobbed and killed in seconds, which is a bit of a waste. Between 30-60 vouchers per hour can be grabbed out of this event. Per time spent, this is a far more efficient operation than any other for getting coffer value. You even get influence vouchers, and over the course of an hour you'll get more than your daily 400 that would have been received from stonghold HE runs. 'Dragon hoard coffers' also drop in this event, and a little faster in the siege area than they do in the Well of Dragons. In WoD its approximately 1x per 10 minutes, while in the siege its about 1x per 6 minutes. Btw, these are useful for getting the last 2 boons in the Tyranny of Dragons campaign, and it takes Oh so many of them. (8000 coffers total). So soak these up while you can as well! |
