The Summer Festival is here! This post is done in hopes of helping you make the most of this event. It may not seem like theres a lot there at first glance. In fact this is one of the major events of the year and can be the source of huge prizes. Hopefully the following guide will help you on your way.
Favor of Sune
Simply by walking in the door at Summer Festival you will complete the quest "Favor of Sune". Then all you have to do is go over to Yina Morradi and turn it in to get your daily Favor of Sune. There is an opportunity to get 22 favors over the course of the event so try not to miss any if you are going for that Fungal Flail Snail.
If you do miss a day, you still have a chance to buy them with copper tickets. Copper tickets can be obtained by playing in Sahha ball matches (under queue) or as a drop from participating in Sahha ball parties.
Fireblossom petals are used to purchase a wide variety of items from the Petal store. This includes everything from transmutes to water-fight toys to special summer fashion. Also available are a Pig companion and a Forest Flail Snail.
You can earn Fireblossom petals by participating in the daily "Summer Celebration". If you do not enjoy participating in the different events you can simply get on the scoreboard and wait for the event to end and still earn the rewards of a 3rd place finish. For example, you can go and kill 1 troll during the Hungry Troll event and then head anywhere else in the map and you will still receive rewards for participating.
Another way to earn Fireblossom petals is to gather fireblossom flowers. There is not limit on how many you can gather in a day. Every 24 you gather you can turn in for a bag of "Flower Gathering Rewards" which contains Fireblossom Petals.
One other way to get Fireblossom petals is from the Tribute Store (mount store). You can trade in your Favors of Sune for a bag. This isn't recommended, as the mounts are much better to get with the Favors and fireblossoms are easy to come by.
Like many, you might be wondering what the deal is with Sahha ball? How do you earn them? What do to with them when you do?
If it's your very first time at Summer Festival, you can get 3 free Sahha balls your first visit (see 'First time at the Summer Festival' slide show below). After that, you will get a daily from Rhaal Voleau called "Your Very Own Sahha Ball". You have the choice of either playing a game of Sahha Ball or gathering 10 flax flowers. After you have completed one of these tasks, he will give you a bag that contains materials for crafting a Sahha Ball through professions.
After you have some Sahha Balls, you need to find a group of people to share with. You can not gain any gifts from your own ball, but up to 4 other people in your party can. The idea is for every one you share, you get to reap the rewards of 4 others in return. If you are worried about getting "ripped off", it's safest to find guild or alliance members to do the Sahha Ball party with. Otherwise, it's easy to find groups around the clock in Zone.
The object of the Sahha ball is to bounce (volley) the ball as many times as you can without dropping it. This can be easily done under a bridge (or in a corner) where it keeps your ball from flying wildly about. You slot your Sahha ball on your potion bar to use. When it starts, you will see the words "playing sahha" flash by and you should see your power bar go into Sahha mode. You will hold down your volley key (left mouse button) to keep the Sahha ball in the air.
As drops, the main thing you are hoping for are tickets. The three types are Bronze, Silver, and Mithral. Bronze and Silver tickets can be directly traded in for some really neat/useful items. The Mithril tickets can be trade in for a CHANCE at epic and legendary prizes. See the Antoni Garfonne at the Ticket Exchange for a list of possible prizes.
First time at Summer Festival
