Just wanted to post some quick highlights from the recent State of the Game livestream for Neverwinter. You can watch the replay here.
State of the Game Highlights
BRINGING BACK OLD DUNGEONS AND MORE EVENTS
-22:00 goal is to get the old dungeons back plus new events
-goal this year is to introduce more events to play
NEW RACE OR CLASS COMING THIS YEAR?
Julia asks: "any new race or class coming up?"
Foss answers: "yes." not m16. "but yes, a race or class are in the works for this year" 31:02
Asked if strongholds will ever be upgraded? 36:12
They will. Foss said he had an upcoming meeting with art lead to talk about "what love they can give strongholds" It can't be much now, because they have been busy focusing on class balance, new endgame content, and pvp first.
-In mod 16, there is a new dungeon and more dungeons-like things called expeditions. Expeditions are "semi randomized dungeon that will change rooms, change monsters, change boss monsters" "you will have to go and explore for ancient relics, so its not just follow the golden path, you really need to branch out and explore" also like the hunts, the "players will also have their own agency for risk vs reward"
-"instead of taroka cards, you will be gaining different runic shards and attuning them" to use for the risk/rewards system
-"will be good story-line too, for those that like that..not just a 'go collect 10 branches' quests"
-"entire loot table system has been revamped" "all the items have actually been revamped" 50:38
-challenge campaigns are designed to incentivize players to go back and play old content for quests, boons that you haven't finished and will item level scale the player for those
