New in mod 16 we have a tie back of sorts that will help out all characters that get to level 80. It was initially called the Challenge Campaign, and then that name got changed to the Legacy Challenge when they removed the badly implemented scaling system from older content. Official release info here: Developer Blog: Legacy (Challenge) Campaigns Read on, and we'll take a deeper look. Once a character reaches level 80, head up to the area next to Sgt Knox and talk with Sybella to get started. When you are all done with the intro text, don't forget to choose a Bonus Campaign to receive the additional currency of your choice. These offer up an ability to go back to older campaigns and do common tasks while gathering additional rewards. The tasks return us to nearly all the campaigns older than mod 16 and have quests related to heroics, quest accomplishment, or killing a number of mobs in the requested area. There are 3 quests a week with the quests rotating through the various campaigns each week. I'm not certain when or if the quests time out. I know I have had at least 6 (2 weeks worth) on a character at a time, and at times there is a nice opportunity to accomplish more than 1 goal at a time when this happens. On the plus side these 'challenges' do offer up some pretty significant rewards: You get additional campaign currency from whatever campaign the task relates to AND you also get a chest with an amount of bonus currency from the campaign you chose above. AND you get currency to buy these items: (Its nice to finally have a good source of companion upgrade tokens.)
On the down side... Its not a real tie in, as it offers no additional story, no new content, and not even any additional tasks. Its just offers more grind for the same prizes that we're used to. For people who like to optimize things: There are times when you may have multiple legacy quests related to the same thing. Kill mobs and do quests from the same area. Do HEs in an area AND do demonic HEs. Then you can do 2 or perhaps 3 things at one time. For example you may be able to do a DHE in WOD get credit for those under 2 legacy quests AND get credit for finishing the 3 DHE quest handed out there. Look for these opportunities to double or triple up as it can save you a lot of time. I have chosen my bonus currency as the one that is currently the biggest challenge (and most expensive) to obtain for building our stronghold. That would be dread ring currency. Doing the legacy campaigns gets about 1 new voucher available per character per week, and that really adds up over time as these vouchers often cost 12k AD to purchase from the auction house. For each of the areas there are 3 types of Legacy Campaign quest. There are Heroics, Conqueror, and Adventures. Heroics - Fairly self explanatory. Do heroics from the given campaign. Underdark is one of the easiest here, as you can do demonic heroics in many different areas. Some have complications. WOD requires 3 smaller heroics, and 1 epic, but that epic can only from a dragon run that starts at x:45 in the WOD area. IWD had broken epics for several weeks that wouldn't count towards the quest. Listen to zone chat to find out which one is working/broken before waiting. Conqueror - Defeat 100 mobs in the given campaign area. For the chult campaign be sure to go to the batiri village to do this one quickly. Adventures - Complete quests from the given campaign area. Check your journal when doing this one. Often weeklies or other quests may not count. On entering your journal hit the 'expand current area' button and look at the quests there. Ones that count towards the Legacy Campaign quest will be shown with a special symbol.
