There are lots of changes coming to large sections of Neverwinter in the coming mod. Mod 15 drops in early Nov, and some of our oldest habits are changing. We'll try and list out some activities to prepare for the major changes and links to discussions about them. This post will be updated as we come across new information, until the new mod hits. Professions: The whole professions system is changing. We'll try to get a tipsheet written up on how to get this going to make the transition easier. For now it may be best to read up on the available discussions and visit the new system on the preview server. Confirmed things to be done before the mod hits. -Have at least 1 profession leveled to 25. Leadership is being traded out for a profession called gathering, and you will receive Gathering levels up to your highest other profession. (Future players will be leveling Gathering side by side with the other professions, so this is a shortcut for us.) -Gather gold before the mod hits. The new system is reliant on gold to do pay for a lot of the tasks to be accomplished. -Have at least 7 purple Grandmaster workers for each character and profession you run right now. You will be able to trade these up for good credit in the new system. -Platesmithing and Mailsmithing are being combined into 1 profession in the new system. So only deal with one of these from now on, your highest. -If are considering Masterworks professions and you're close to levelling them, level them before the mod not after. As it is now it will be considerably cheaper to do. Salvage: One of the hardest hits will be the loss of salvage. Thats right, salvaging eq for AD will no longer be possible in mod 15. :( Confirmed things to be done before the mod hits. -Salvage any available extra gear that you have before the mod. -If you haven't done so yet, trade in old protectors seals for Seals of the Brave at the seal vendor. -Trade Seals of the brave for Primal rings and salvage those. -Do hunts in Boravia and use all your available high deck cards and the blue cards that give gear chests. Salvage that eq. You will be able to replace the cards while playing the new mod, but using them in hunts will only be worthwhile to gather wearable pieces for alts after that time. -Trade chultan treasures for salvage EQ in the campaign store. Trade your Chultan treasures down to an equal amount with your Omuan treasures. There will be a direct tradein for AD in the new system, worth more than the salvage is now. But it takes both treasures in equal measure. -Buy Salvaged Gear Packs with Barovian coins from the Ravenloft campaign store. If you are not planning on making other puchases like the weapons, spend all you can. -Clear your mail and bank slots of out dated eq to salvage. - Edit :Black ice items have been changed and this no longer works. Refine raw Blackice and purchase eq from the campaign store to salvage. Blackice won't exist after the new mod, so make your purchases now. VIP: Related to the above salvage change, they are changing a lot about the reward system. Each of what we have today as an epic chest key will be changed to a reroll reward. In mod 15 the epic chest will be free, and each reroll reward will be able to take 5 prizes from each chest. It has been state by a dev comment (Ill link it if I can find it again) that these are true rerolls, and not a reduced chance at rewards. Confirmed things to be done before the mod hits. Collect the free key everyday for each of your characters. Hunts in Omu and Chult: Much of this eq is outdated now with a few notable exceptions. With that hunts have slowed considerably in those areas. It was a lot of work to go all the way to the top of that system. They are changing the hunts in Chult and Omu to always drop a lure, and increasing the drop rate of the eq. Confirmed things to be done before the mod hits. Wait for the new mod to attempt to get Chult and Omu hunt gear and lures. Sell any you have now with the relatively higher prices, as those will likely drop to near 0 after the mod. Anything you get now will likely be more than what you'll get then. Levels: Claim your leveling rewards before the mod if you want to build up some of the experience books, and companion experience books. This will be good if you are thinking of making a new alt character or starting up new companions. Doing them after the mod should result in slightly higher AD rewards. So theres the balance. As we are now you'll see 30k AD in about 40 rewards, after the mod it is more in the area of 30.
