We've had an updated guide for AD in Neverwinter for many mods now. There have been some significant changes with mod 16, while the bulk has remained the same. So the best way to handle this is to release a new updated guide. So here we go... The relevant stuff will be copied from our old guide here. We'll keep that post up for posterity, but items will be added and deleted for the current content. As with previous mods there doesn't seem to be 1 way to make quick AD with little work, and if you've found one take advantage of it as its lifetime will almost certainly be short. This guide is a collection of all the known little ways we've come across to gather AD. With some time optimization 100k AD or more can be made with 1 or preferably a few level 80 characters. Greater sums are available depending on the amount of organization, time, and work you want to dedicate to it. Of course with mod 14 came the account based refining maximum. Previously you could refine up to 36k rough AD per character / day. Now that is to 100k RAD (rough ad) per day / account. You can collect more rough AD than that, but you will have to wait until the next day in order to refine it into spendable AD. Lets get into the details: Daily dungeons and Skirmishes (Major change from 12b, amounts changed, updated for 16)
Queues and rewards: level 80, Seals of the Mountain
Queues and rewards: <level 80, Seals of the Crown
In theory thats up to 58k AD per day. As of this writing the author and friends don't bother with REQ and most often RAQ either. Time / AD makes those randoms not worth the while. It can take you 45 mins to an hour to run many of the dungeons in the RAQ and you could have made more AD in other ways in that time. So in reality its more like 20k, or 30k if you have invoking bonuses. (*Depending on which content you get there may be 1.5-12 extra AD from the chests.) Legacy Campaigns - New for Mod 16. See here for our full post on Legacy Campaigns. This is not suggested, but it is possible to trade the currency from the legacy campaigns quests for 50k invoking bonus (max is 100k per character). This may be better than going without a bonus if you've not invoked enough or don't have enough alts to keep the bonus up, however long term the companion tokens are the more desirable choice. Master Expeditions- New with mod 16 are Master Expeditions (MEs). A level 80 character that has gone through the Undermountain (mod 16) campaign can do 3 MEs per day. Trade the 3 runes received from those in to Zok the Questionable Merchant in Yawning Portal for chests. Each of those chests will contain 5.5k AD. Since this is a good source of some BIS modern EQ, this is a good side income. Takes about 1/2 hour for all 3. Weeklies - do weekly quests for 4500 AD each.
Alas Salvage is no more. Any extra blue and purple gear you get can only be sold for gold or turned into a small amount of RP. Insignia -The insignia system was changed in Mod 16, and with that they drop more frequently as well. Many insignias that drop from dead mobs are unbound and can be sold. While the majority of types are essentially worthless, some types like dominance and aggression are often worth thousands, even at green level. Always take a moment to check the AH price before discarding. Daily Dread Ring tower (minor change from 12b)
Seals of the Brave (changed for mod 14). Protector (changed for mod 12)
Many Campaigns have a task or store item that can trade campaign currency for an amount of RAD. A few may have items that can be sold, like sharandar. Sharandar
Undermountain Expeditions
No longer sell well. Currency Exchange (Also known as the ZAX)
Set your professions crafters to gather materials, collect them and sell them for small amounts on the AH. This is slow, but can result in steady incomes. The economy changes constantly so no solid recomendations can be made on exactly what to craft. Major armor kits can be steady earners. YMMV Note with mod 15 there is a quest line associated with starting to craft. It takes about 1/2 hour per character to run through the videos and different tasks to get started. Theres not a lot of value here in mod 16, but it may make a comeback once the put further work into it. Maybe in mod 18? Masterworks Professions Fair warning: It cannot be stressed enough how expensive and frustrating this is to qualify for.
It is still possible however to make unbound refinement point objects in leadership. Also some quests reward unbound rp. This generally sells at a fairly static price. Build up stacks and sell on the AH. Dragon Hoard Coffers -
Alts - Having alt characters can help multiply your daily income. You get 2 character slots to start with (was 3 but this has been changed in modern times), may as well take advantage. See here for a more detailed look. Fishing, Treasure hunting, and HEs in MOD 10, 10.5, 12 content-
